2005: Exchange Knowledge – Create Innovation

Great things sometimes develop from modest beginnings. This was the case with the first Campus Symposium in 2005. The idea of holding a business conference at the BiTS private university was based on a student initiative and was originally intended as a means for making the relevative young university better known outside the region. After all, even as early as 2005, the students had wholeheartedly committed themselves to promoting the interchange between the business, academic and political sectors.

Richard von Weizsäcker beim Campus Symposium 2005Despite all criticism, the idea of the Campus Symposium was put into practice with great eagerness and motivation on the part of the students. In 2005, we succeeded in winning the former German President, Richard von Weizsäcker, as our first keynote speaker who spoke to an enthusiastic audience of around 200 people in the auditorium of the BiTS University.

But before long, it became evident that the auditorium was too small for the developments to come. In 2005, the Campus Symposium was still organized from lecture-rooms at the BiTS. At the time, there was no permanent office. There was however something that still distinguishes the team members each year since then, namely commitment and enjoyment of working in a team.
